Skies will be mostly cloudy across South Korea on Thursday, Sept. 17, with a wide gap between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Rain is expected in parts of Jeju Island.
Morning lows will range from 11 to 21 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs of 24 to 30 C. Except along the east coast, most of the country will see temperature swings of 10 to 15 degrees during the day, and residents should take care of their health accordingly.
On Jeju, rain will fall in some areas from Thursday morning through Friday night, Sept. 18. Some parts of the island may see fewer than 0.1 millimeters of rainfall on Thursday morning. Total precipitation over the two days from the 17th to the 18th is forecast at 5 to 60 millimeters.
Fine dust concentrations are expected to stay at "good" levels nationwide.
Waves will run 0.5 to 3.5 meters in coastal waters off the East Sea and South Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters off the West Sea. In the inner sections of the far seas, wave heights are forecast at 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 3.0 meters in the West Sea and 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the South Sea.
