Cho Hyun-sang, Vice Chairman of HS Hyosung (487570), attended a global industrial materials exhibition and conducted "sales diplomacy" activities.
HS Hyosung Advanced Materials (298050) said Tuesday that it participated in "Techtextil 2026," the world's largest industrial materials exhibition, held in Frankfurt, Germany, starting Sunday (local time). Techtextil is a showcase for advanced industrial material technologies applied across various sectors including automotive, defense, aerospace, and shipbuilding. It was first held in Frankfurt in 1986 and has been held biennially since.
Despite geopolitical uncertainties, this year's exhibition drew around 1,500 companies from 49 countries, which discussed new market development and expanded cooperation. HS Hyosung Advanced Materials presented its full lineup of advanced fiber materials in one place, ranging from super fibers such as carbon fiber and aramid to tire cord, airbags, seat belts, and car mats.
The company notably introduced "TANSOME®," a high-performance carbon fiber brand developed with its own technology in 2011. Carbon fiber contains more than 92% carbon within its yarn and weighs only a quarter of steel, yet offers 10 times the strength and seven times the elasticity, making it a key material for drones and hydrogen tanks. Also on display were defense equipment such as bulletproof vests and helmets made with "ALKEX®," an aramid brand that is five times stronger than steel and can withstand temperatures of 500 degrees Celsius.
On the second day of the exhibition, Monday, the company hosted an "HS Hyosung Night" event, inviting about 130 guests including officials from global companies such as Autoliv, ZF, and Continental, as well as Lim Sang-beom, South Korean Ambassador to Germany. The venue featured fusion traditional Korean music performances, hanbok (traditional Korean dress) experiences, and K-food including bulgogi and gimbap.
"The experience of sharing Korea's charm will serve as an opportunity to elevate HS Hyosung Advanced Materials' global partnerships to a higher level," Cho said. "As a sincere partner, we will create differentiated value in the global materials market."
