Shinsegae International (031430.KS) said on the 15th that it has opened the first official standalone store in South Korea for Sea New York, a New York-based womenswear brand, at the Shinsegae Department Store in Gangnam, Seocho-gu, Seoul.
Sea New York launched in 2006. The brand is known for reinterpreting vintage styles in a contemporary way and for designs that use lace, embroidery and knitwear. Until now, it has been sold in Korea mainly through multi-brand retailers such as Beaker and through overseas direct purchases. The new store marks its first full offline presentation of its collections in the country.
The Gangnam store will carry Sea New York's 2026 fall-winter collection, which combines romantic designs with practical elements and features embroidery, classic patterns and floral motifs. The color palette centers on earth tones and neutrals.
Key items include the Tristan Double Layer Jacket with a detachable cape, the Davis Sweatshirt with a patchwork design, and the Light Knit Cape Jacket with a lace cape and crochet detailing.
"A domestic customer base for Sea New York has already formed through multi-brand retailers and direct overseas purchases," an official at Shinsegae International said. "Through this first official standalone store, we will showcase the brand's full range of products."
