
Hyundai Glovis (086280.KS) is developing a joint business model for smart building logistics automation with Samsung C&T (028260.KS), built around robot delivery of mail.
Hyundai Glovis said on the 17th that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Samsung C&T's construction division on the 16th at Hyundai Glovis' headquarters in Seongsu, Seoul, to jointly develop smart building logistics automation and robot delivery services.
Han Kyu-heon, head of Hyundai Glovis' Future Innovation Technology Center, and Cho Hye-jung, head of Samsung C&T's DxP Division, attended the signing ceremony along with other officials.
Hyundai Glovis, which has logistics automation capabilities, said the agreement is significant because it allows the company to target the smart building market together with Samsung C&T, which has expertise in customized robot delivery services. The two companies plan to move beyond proof of concept to build an operating model, laying the groundwork for commercial service and business development.
Hyundai Glovis will develop solutions for collecting, storing and moving deliveries within buildings. Samsung C&T will focus on analyzing facility characteristics for smart building solutions, developing services and preparing the operating environment.
At the core of the partnership is unmanned delivery of mail and parcels using autonomous mobile robots. Robots receive, store and sort items that arrive at parcel lockers, then travel between above-ground and underground floors to identify the recipient's work floor and desk for accurate and rapid delivery.
The companies plan to apply artificial intelligence and robotics across the entire process, from receiving, managing, sorting and transporting items to final delivery. They expect the system to improve work efficiency while optimizing logistics handling and raising operational efficiency in building management.
The partners will also jointly identify application sites next year and pursue proof of concept, service upgrades and a more detailed commercialization model. By broadening the scope of their cooperation, they aim to deliver customer services that have been difficult to experience in conventional office environments.

Hyundai Glovis has been focusing on expanding its logistics automation business to diversify its portfolio. The company acquired Altiol, a logistics automation specialist, in 2023, and showcased physical AI combining automation equipment, robotics and data-driven operations at the Smart Factory and Automation World exhibition (AW 2026) held this year.
