NAVER (035420.KS) said on the 17th that it is adding a recommendation feature to the artificial intelligence shopping agent in its shopping app that reflects real-time delivery information.
Users will now be able to find products that can arrive when they want without checking delivery dates one item at a time. If a user tells the AI shopping agent something like, "Recommend a hot pot meal kit that arrives by tomorrow," the agent narrows the results to items that can actually be delivered to the address the user has registered and also flags the order cutoff time for each product. NAVER said it has also improved the agent's ability to identify and act on situations and context in natural-language queries that call for fast delivery.
Usage has risen steadily along with the upgrades. As of this month, the number of conversations through the AI shopping agent has increased about 60% from June, when the service was formally launched, while transaction value has grown 82%.
Lee Jung-tae, leader of NAVER's Shopping Search & AI unit, said the company will "support purchase decisions optimized to users' intent and context by combining personalized recommendation technology with the real-time shopping data held across the NAVER Shopping ecosystem, including product specifications, real-time delivery information and detailed review data, and build a differentiated AI commerce experience."
