Doosan E&C (011160) has been selected as the builder for an urban public housing complex development project (led by LH) in the Wonmi district of Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.
Under the original design, the project calls for 13 buildings ranging from three basement levels to 41 floors above ground, with 1,628 apartment units and neighborhood retail facilities, at a site near 166-1 Wonmi-dong in Bucheon, the company said on the 21st. Construction is scheduled to take 56 months from groundbreaking, at a cost of about 515.4 billion won ($371 million).
Doosan E&C has proposed an alternative design of 10 buildings rising up to 49 floors with 1,653 units, and plans to apply its premium residential brand "We've the Zenith." The builder also plans to introduce distinctive features including a 49th-floor sky lounge with panoramic views of central Bucheon, four themed signature gardens and resort-style community facilities.
Doosan E&C has now secured three of the seven urban public housing complex development projects led by the Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) that have selected builders. "Based on the distinctive residential products of 'We've the Zenith' and the project experience we have accumulated in public-sector work, we will carry out this project steadily and create a landmark residential complex representing Wonmi in Bucheon," a Doosan E&C official said.
