Woomi Construction will take part in a public-led urban housing complex project near Yongma Tunnel in Myeonmok-dong, Jungnang District, Seoul.
The company said on the 22nd that it was selected as a participant in the project following a general meeting of residents. Total project cost is about 196.7 billion won. The Yongma Tunnel site is the first of five public-led urban housing complex projects underway in Jungnang District to win project approval from the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
The site covers 18,904 square meters around 1075 Myeonmok-dong in Jungnang District. The development will range from seven basement levels to a maximum of 34 floors above ground, with 551 units in total, including 428 public sale units, 56 profit-sharing units and 67 public rental units. Construction is targeted to begin in the second half of next year, with move-in planned for 2032.
Woomi Construction plans to design the complex with units oriented mainly toward the south and views of Yongmasan Mountain. It will build 154 units in a flat-plate layout and apply a four-bay floor plan — with four rooms, including the living room, lined up along the sunlit front side — even to units with an exclusive area of 59 square meters.
The complex will feature about 4,962 square meters of landscaped space, six theme gardens and walking paths. Community facilities are also planned, including a sky lounge, a fitness center, a golf practice range, a study lounge, a stroller station, a shared childcare center and a kids cafe. The company is also planning a book community linked to the Myeonmok-dong Library to be built nearby.
Woomi Construction said it plans to expand its participation in public-led urban housing complex projects, starting with this development. "The Yongma Tunnel project is our first full-scale entry into public-led urban housing complex projects," a company official said. "We will strengthen the competitiveness of our housing products and contribute to expanding housing supply and improving residential environments in urban areas."
