Kitchen appliances that cut the time and effort of preparing holiday dishes are drawing attention ahead of the Chuseok holiday. Shinil Electronics (002700.KS) has proposed three kitchen products for the upcoming holiday, covering large-batch cooking, ingredient prep and seasoning preparation.
The Shinil square party pan offers a 61-centimeter cooking surface, allowing large quantities of food to be cooked at once — pan-fried dishes, grilled items and stir-fries, as well as broth-based hot pot. Its selling point is ample cooking space for holidays when several types of dishes must be prepared at the same time.
Temperature can be set from level 1 to level 5 using a detachable rotary control, reaching up to 250 degrees Celsius. A U-shaped heating element transfers heat quickly across the pan and is designed to cook food evenly. A heat-resistant tempered glass lid lets users check food while cooking.
Holiday cooking requires cutting a variety of vegetables to uniform size for dishes such as japchae and jeon. The Shinil electric slicer uses a one-touch design that slices ingredients automatically at the press of a button, reducing the time and effort of repetitive knife work.
A wide 95-millimeter feed chute accepts larger ingredients. The pusher is designed to reach the bottom of the chute so that small ingredients can also be processed. Major parts including the blade can be fully detached for washing, and the product features a four-layer safety design that includes an overheating prevention system and a safety lock.
The company also introduced a product for making seasonings and sauces in bulk after ingredient prep. The Shinil high-capacity blender has a 4.5-liter container and a motor that spins up to 11,000 times per minute, grinding large volumes of ingredients at once.
Two stainless-steel blade types are included — an S-shaped blade for blending and a straight blade for grinding — and can be swapped depending on use. The blender can handle everything from chopping vegetables to processing garlic and red pepper powder, and can also crush hard ingredients such as ice and nuts. Beyond seasonings and sauces for holiday dishes, it can be used to make smoothies, soy milk and soup.
An official at Shinil Electronics said the company expects kitchen appliances that ease the time and effort of holiday cooking to prove even more useful this year, given that the Chuseok break is shorter than last year's. "We hope people use Shinil's three kitchen appliances to prepare holiday food more conveniently and spend relaxed time with their families," the official said.
