Hanwha's construction division said on the 1st that it has developed new floor plans for its Hanwha Forena apartment brand to reflect changing customer lifestyles. The new plans expand the number of unit layout options to 12 from six, improving the usability of kitchens, living rooms and storage areas.
In units with 84 square meters of exclusive floor area, space previously allocated to a multipurpose alpha room and a master bedroom balcony — both of which saw relatively low usage — has been redesigned into a wide open-plan kitchen, a circular pantry and a large walk-in closet. While conventional kitchens faced a wall, leaving the cook isolated, the wide open-plan kitchen faces the living room to allow conversation, reflecting shifts in how residents live.
The company also applied a circular pantry connected to the kitchen across all floor plans, creating a flow that links the carrying in, organizing and cooking of groceries in a single path. The design improves both the sense of openness and ease of use. In the master bedroom, a large walk-in closet replaces the balcony space, providing storage for clothing used in leisure activities such as running and Pilates, as well as bedding sets organized by type.
Floor plans for 59-square-meter and 74-square-meter units were likewise revised with a focus on space efficiency that residents can feel in daily life. In flat-type layouts, the entryway pantry was integrated into a circular design to improve storage and movement. In corner-type layouts, a new master bedroom walk-in closet was added to strengthen storage capacity, which had been relatively limited.
"We focused on efficiently rearranging limited space to improve both the usable area and residential satisfaction that customers experience in real life," an official at Hanwha's construction division said. "We will continue to develop differentiated Hanwha Forena housing products that reflect the diverse lifestyles of our customers."
