Writer Yoo Si-min on the 20th compared a segment of supporters who use derogatory labels to "pebbles in a shoe," saying that "those pebbles are making things hard for the president and are politically isolating him."
Yoo made the remarks on the YouTube program "Tak Hyun-min's The Beautiful," saying they were "the reason people who like me come to dislike President Lee Jae-myung, whom they praise." He added: "That has caused the president great pain and has politically isolated him, but over the past year and more, the president does not seem to have made that diagnosis as it is. So he will likely keep walking with small pebbles under his feet."
On prosecution reform, Yoo also said of the current situation: "Our president is now walking in shoes the public put on him, with no choice in the matter. That is how I see it, even if he did not want them." He continued: "Because he is walking in shoes he did not want, he is uncomfortable now. In life, there are times when you have no choice but to wear an uncomfortable shoe."
He added: "I did not put the pebble in. I said that a pebble had gotten in. Even now, if he shakes out the shoe, removes the pebble and starts walking again, he can go at his original pace, to where he originally intended to go."
