BUSAN — A lodging discount program aimed at cutting accommodation costs and encouraging visitors to stay longer in Busan this fall begins on the 22nd. The Busan Metropolitan Government and the Busan Tourism Organization said on the 21st that they will take part in the 2026 Korea Lodging Sale Festa.
The program is part of a domestic travel campaign led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. Rather than simply drawing more visitors, it focuses on using accommodation discounts to extend stays and expand local spending.
Discounts vary by the price of the lodging product and how it is used. Products priced at 70,000 won or more qualify for a 30,000-won coupon, while those from 20,000 won to under 70,000 won qualify for a 20,000-won coupon. Multi-night packages priced at 140,000 won or more receive a 70,000-won discount, a benefit designed to encourage longer stays.
Coupons can be used for check-in dates from the 22nd through Nov. 8. They will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis, one per person, through 13 online travel agencies including NOL and MyRealTrip. The program ends once the available supply runs out.

The city and the tourism organization expect the program to help boost revenue for local tourism businesses by channeling autumn travel demand into overnight stays.
"We hope this eases the travel burden for visitors coming to Busan in the cool autumn weather and gives them a reason to stay longer and experience the city's many attractions more deeply," an official at the tourism organization said.
