Kim Sang-hwan, president of South Korea's Constitutional Court, will discuss cooperation with the heads of the constitutional courts of Italy and Slovenia.
Kim will depart on the 22nd to meet Giovanni Amoroso, president of Italy's Constitutional Court, to discuss constitutional adjudication issues in the two countries and ways for the two courts to work together, the Constitutional Court said on the 21st. At a seminar on the 22nd, Secretary General Son In-hyuk will present on the current state of South Korea's constitutional adjudication system, while Ha Min-jung, senior director of research, will speak on the functions and role of the impeachment adjudication system.
Kim will hold formal talks with Rok Ceferin, president of Slovenia's Constitutional Court, on the 28th. Ahead of an official visit to South Korea by a Slovenian Constitutional Court delegation next year, the two sides plan to exchange views on expanding exchanges and cooperation between the two courts.
Kim will attend the 7th Congress and board meeting of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions (AACC), to be held in Uzbekistan from Oct. 1 to 2. At the congress, held under the theme "Constitutional Adjudication in the Era of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence," Kim will give a presentation titled "The Response of the Constitutional Court of Korea to the Age of Artificial Intelligence."
