South Korean equestrian Nam Dong-heon, 37, won the gold medal in individual dressage at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Nam rode Leonidas in the final at Tokyo Equestrian Park in Japan on the 27th, scoring 75.190 points to finish first.
The victory returns the Asian Games individual dressage gold to South Korean equestrian for the first time since the 2014 Incheon Games, ending a 12-year wait. It is Nam's second medal of these Games.
Nam claimed the gold in a tight finish. His margin over silver medalist Yu Zaiyi of China, who scored 75.050 points, was just 0.140 points. The bronze also went to China, with Lao Zaiyi scoring 74.935 points.
Nam, who had earlier taken silver in the team dressage event, added his second medal of the competition. It was South Korea's 17th gold medal of these Games.
South Korean equestrian, which failed to win a single medal at the last Asian Games in Hangzhou, rebounded at this competition with one gold and one silver.
