Korea Investment & Securities said on the 22nd that it is launching a mobile experience booth called the Pension Station Pop-Up to help office workers gain easier access to their retirement assets. The firm plans to set itself apart with a roadshow that goes to the business districts where investors spend their days, rather than relying on standardized consultations at branch offices.
The Pension Station Pop-Up will tour downtown plazas and large office complexes where foot traffic concentrates during commuting hours and lunch breaks. It starts at Cheonggye Plaza in Seoul's Gwanghwamun district on the 28th and 29th, followed by the Yeouido Culture Plaza, the site of the Seoul Marathon, on Oct. 5, and then Guro G-Valley Mall, home to a cluster of information technology and venture companies, on Oct. 6 and 7. The tour will continue to One Grove in Magok before moving on to other major business hubs including Gangnam and Pangyo.
The pop-up trailer is divided into three areas: a platform zone, a trailer zone and a consulting zone. Visitors can have their investment profiles and retirement readiness assessed, and receive basic consultations on managing pension assets along with a comprehensive guidebook. "We designed a mobile pop-up so that office workers can check their pension investment profiles and pick up expert information within the daily radius they already travel," said Choi Jong-jin, head of the pension innovation division at Korea Investment & Securities.
