Samsung Electronics Service will operate weekend care centers and emergency on-site repair services during the Chuseok holiday to minimize gaps in customer support.
The company said on Sept. 22 that all service centers nationwide will be closed on Sept. 24, the first day of the holiday, and on Sept. 25, Chuseok day itself. Nine weekend care centers will operate on Sept. 26 and 27.
The weekend care centers will provide inspection and repair services for mobile phones, tablets and wearable devices by advance reservation. The nine locations are Samsung Gangnam and Hongdae in Seoul, Jung-dong in Bucheon, Seongnam and Guseong in Yongin in Gyeonggi Province, Daejeon, Gwangsan in Gwangju, Nam-Daegu and Dongnae in Busan.
Reservations can be made through the Samsung Electronics Service website or its contact center. Operating hours run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Samsung Gangnam service center will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Eleven "Baro Service" counters located inside Samsung Store outlets will also open on Sept. 26 and 27. They offer simple smartphone inspections and screen protector application.
Emergency on-site service will be available for home appliance breakdowns. Contact center agents and field service engineers will remain on emergency standby during the holiday, and on-site visits will be provided for urgent cases such as refrigerators that fail to cool or freeze.
For customers unable to visit a service center during the holiday, Samsung Electronics Service offers self-diagnosis guides by product, frequently asked questions and do-it-yourself solutions on its website. An artificial intelligence chatbot consultation service is also available.
