Samsung Electronics' latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, took first and second place in foldable phone evaluations by leading consumer magazines in five major European countries. The strong reviews in Europe, following similar results in the United States, reaffirm the company's product competitiveness in the premium foldable market, analysts said.
According to industry sources on the 27th, the Galaxy Z8 series ranked at the top in recent foldable phone tests by Altroconsumo in Italy, OCU in Spain, Deco Proteste in Portugal, Consumentenbond in the Netherlands and Test Achats in Belgium.
These organizations are consumer groups that buy products directly, without relying on manufacturer advertising or sponsorship, and test performance, durability and ease of use. They are among the most widely consulted evaluators for European shoppers.
In Italy, Spain and Portugal, the Galaxy Z Fold8 placed first with a score of 81, followed by the Z Fold8 Ultra at 80. In the Netherlands and Belgium, the two models tied for first place. In Italy, Spain, Portugal and Belgium, both models were named "Best of Test," an award given to the highest-rated products among those evaluated.
Samsung's foldables also stood out in the United States. The Z Fold8 Ultra ranked first in foldable phone testing by the U.S. consumer magazine Consumer Reports, while the Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 also placed near the top. Winning favorable reviews in both the U.S. and major European markets, Samsung Electronics is moving to solidify its lead in the foldable phone market.
