Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) unveiled three new Galaxy products at once, ranging from a premium tablet with upgraded artificial intelligence features to the lineup's first clip-type wireless earbuds and a compact location tracker. The strategy is to broaden the Galaxy ecosystem by segmenting the product lineup by purpose of use, targeting everyone from consumers focused on creative work and productivity to runners and other exercise enthusiasts and pet owners.
Samsung Electronics said on the 1st that it had unveiled the premium Galaxy Tab S12 series, the Galaxy Buds On wireless earbuds and the Galaxy SmartTag3 location tracker.
The Galaxy Tab S12 targets demand for creative work and productivity, including video and image editing, handwriting and document work. The top-end S12 Ultra is 5.1 millimeters thick with a 14.6-inch display, and its neural processing unit delivers 61% better performance than the previous model. Users can split the screen into as many as three sections to watch video, take notes and query AI at the same time, and the device comes with Adobe Photoshop preinstalled, a first for an Android tablet. It also supports drawing and image editing with the S Pen. Battery life runs up to 23 hours of video playback on the Ultra and up to 21 hours on the S12+. The Ultra is priced between 1.8997 million won and 3.0184 million won ($1,300 to $2,100), while the S12+ ranges from 1.5499 million won to 2.0691 million won ($1,100 to $1,400). It goes on sale in South Korea on the 7th.

The Galaxy Buds On are aimed at consumers who enjoy outdoor activities such as running and walking. For the first time in the Galaxy Buds series, they use a clip-type design that leaves the ear canal open, allowing users to hear approaching vehicles or people while listening to music. The earbuds feature a Twin Boost speaker that strengthens bass and technology that reduces sound leakage. Three microphones and a bone-conduction vibration sensor improve call quality. A single charge provides up to 9.5 hours of use, and the price is 299,000 won ($210). They go on sale in South Korea on the 27th.

The Galaxy SmartTag3 improves portability with an eye toward tracking pets as well as keys and bags. It is about 35% smaller in volume and about 33% lighter than its predecessor, reducing the burden when attached to a leash or harness. Distance-measuring technology based on Bluetooth 6.0 lets users check the direction and distance of the tag from as far as 60 meters away, and ultra-wideband technology pinpoints the location more precisely at closer range. The device also alerts users when a pet leaves a designated area. It is priced at 44,000 won ($31) and goes on sale in South Korea on the 7th.
