Hyundai Motor (005380.KS) won the Korean round of the 2026 TCR World Tour for the second consecutive year, triumphing in one of the world's top touring car series.
Hyundai Motor said on the 5th that The New Elantra N TCR, sold domestically as The New Avante N TCR, won Round 5 of the TCR World Tour held from the 2nd to the 4th at Inje Speedium in Gangwon State.
Inje Speedium, built into the mountainous terrain of Inje, features 20 varied corners and sharp elevation changes, making technical precision and rhythm critical for drivers.
Mikel Azcona of the BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse team finished first in both the first and third feature races. Azcona added 89 points in total — 60 from the two victories, 14 from a sixth-place finish in the second race and 15 from qualifying — to retain first place in the 2026 drivers' standings.
Teammate Norbert Michelisz placed third in both the first and third races and seventh in the second, collecting 70 points to move up to second in the drivers' standings.

BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse has accumulated 583 points through this round, placing second in the teams' standings.
"We are pleased to deliver another top result, building on our past victories," a Hyundai Motor official said. "We will work to produce strong results through the remainder of the season."
Round 6 of the TCR World Tour will be held in Chengdu, China, from the 16th to the 18th.
The TCR World Tour is a customer racing series that bars manufacturers from entering directly, with professional racing teams competing in cars purchased from manufacturers.
More than 40 TCR series events are held worldwide, including continental and national championships, with as many as 650 drivers taking part across them.
The TCR World Tour, the top-tier competition within the TCR series, consists of eight rounds this year, with the remaining races set for China and Macau.
