U.S. memory chipmaker Micron Technology posted record results for both the quarter and the full year, driven by surging memory demand from the artificial intelligence boom.
Micron said on the 30th that revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, covering June through August, came to $54.23 billion, or about 73.5 trillion won. That is nearly five times the figure from a year earlier and marks the company's highest quarterly revenue on record.
Revenue rose 30.8% from $41.46 billion in the previous quarter and beat the Wall Street consensus of $51.07 billion compiled by the London Stock Exchange Group.
Demand for AI servers and high-bandwidth memory drove the growth.
Revenue at the core data center division reached $18 billion, more than 11 times the level a year earlier. The cloud memory division posted $16.28 billion, the mobile and client division $13.11 billion, and the automotive and embedded division $6.82 billion.
Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter came in at $33.42, above the Wall Street estimate of $31.61.
Micron's full-year revenue for fiscal 2026 also set a record. Revenue from September 2025 through August of this year totaled $133.188 billion, up 256% from the previous year.
Chief Executive Sanjay Mehrotra said the company expects even stronger results in fiscal 2027, expressing confidence in continued growth.
Micron guided for first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue of $61.5 billion, or about 83.3 trillion won, and earnings per share of $38.15. Both figures exceed Wall Street estimates of $57 billion in revenue and EPS of $35.4.
Mehrotra said AI is becoming superintelligence and that memory further strengthens both that intelligence and customers' platform competitiveness. He added that strategic customer agreements, under which customers commit in advance to specific memory purchase volumes, reinforce confidence in the durability of Micron's financial performance.
Micron is building new chip production facilities in New York state and in Boise, Idaho, where it is headquartered.
Micron ranks third in the high-bandwidth memory market, behind Samsung Electronics and SK hynix. Still, its recent results and market value have expanded rapidly on rising demand for AI memory.
Micron shares were little changed in regular trading on the day but rose about 1.6% in after-hours trading following the earnings release.
