Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, who marks her 20th year since debut this year, is opening up the group dormitory where she still lives.
Hyoyeon, a Girls' Generation member who also performs in the unit HYO:RI:SOO with Yuri and Sooyoung, appears on the 414th episode of MBC's variety show "Omniscient Interfering View," directed by Kim Yoon-jip and others, airing on the 5th.
Over their long years of activity, the other members moved out of the dormitory as they built their own daily lives, but Hyoyeon has continued to live there. Her tastes and memories are visible throughout the space she has occupied for so long. She draws attention with her easygoing habit of sleeping on the floor without a bed. Her dog Bailey, by contrast, has a top-of-the-line bed, a reversal between owner and pet that draws laughs.
The dormitory housekeeper, who has shared a special bond with Hyoyeon for 21 years, appears on the show to look back on their long relationship. Having been with Hyoyeon since her trainee days, the housekeeper watched Girls' Generation grow up from the closest vantage point. The two have grown as close as family over the years, and Hyoyeon says she is now more used to the housekeeper's cooking than her own mother's.
Hyoyeon also goes out for daytime drinks with staff members who have stayed by her side for years, including a makeup artist who has worked with her for two decades. Surrounded by people close to her, she freely shows her playful true self and unpredictable wit, drawing laughs.
Hyoyeon is currently active as part of HYO:RI:SOO, which released its debut single "Skibidi" on the 31st of last month.
