Actor Han Jung-soo said he will stop making political remarks. Han had been sharing his views on political and social issues through social media.
Han wrote on social media on the 9th, "I will no longer make political remarks."
He added, "I am grateful to everyone who supported me and everyone who criticized me. I will now return to where I belong and live faithfully. Thank you."
On the 7th, he said he would join efforts to impeach the president if South Korean troops were deployed to the Strait of Hormuz.
At the time, he said, "If troops are deployed, I will unconditionally join the effort to impeach the president."
Earlier, on the 5th, he argued that "deployment is murder and a sacrifice of our young people," adding, "If the government decides to send troops, I will fight to the end."
Han had also used social media to voice his views on the ballot shortage controversy in the June 3 local elections, the Starbucks "Tank Day" controversy and disputes involving the Korea Football Association.
Han has appeared in the television dramas "Chuno" and "The King and I" and the film "Sunflower."
