GOYANG — A bank branch has opened at KINTEX, South Korea's largest exhibition and convention center, filling a space left vacant for six years and improving access to financial services for visitors and resident companies.
KINTEX said on the 22nd that it had opened the NH NongHyup Bank KINTEX Branch at Exhibition Center 1 and begun full operations, aiming to make banking more convenient for exhibition visitors and tenant firms.
An opening ceremony was held on the morning of the same day on the first floor of Exhibition Center 1, attended by KINTEX CEO Lee Min-woo and Oh Young-seok, head of NH NongHyup Bank's Goyang branch office, along with other officials from both organizations.
The new branch occupies 114 square meters of net floor area, located opposite the entrance to Hall 3 on the first floor of Exhibition Center 1. KINTEX and NH NongHyup Bank signed a long-term lease to establish a stable operating base, and plan to provide continuous one-stop financial services for the on-site business needs of exhibitors and for large numbers of visitors.
KINTEX had operated a financial institution inside the venue since it opened in 2005, but the branch withdrew in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving the center without a bank for about six years. After the pandemic eased, the MICE industry returned to normal and visitor numbers surged with the hosting of large international exhibitions and conventions, prompting KINTEX to actively pursue a new financial institution as part of building world-class infrastructure.
With NH NongHyup Bank's entry, in-person financial services inside the exhibition center have been fully restored.

"We will continue to expand support and convenience facilities to improve the experience of exhibition and convention attendees."
