ULSAN — Late-night limousine buses serving Ulsan Station will run more often over the Chuseok holiday, and 10,000 parking spaces at public lots across the city will open free of charge. Parking will also be allowed near traditional markets and the weekday driving restriction on passenger cars will be lifted, part of a package of transport measures aimed at easing travel for holiday visitors.
The city of Ulsan said on the 22nd that it will implement the 2026 Chuseok Holiday Special Transport Plan over five days from the 23rd to the 27th.
Public transport service will be expanded first for travelers moving late at night. On the 25th, the day of Chuseok, five limousine bus routes (Nos. 5001 through 5005) will each add runs at 12:30 a.m. and 12:55 a.m. to serve passengers arriving at Ulsan Station after midnight.
Four city bus routes (Nos. 134, 713, 725 and 1713) linking the intercity and express bus terminals with Taehwagang Station will push back their final departures by 20 to 30 minutes for four days from the 24th to the 27th. The integrated operation of the SRT and KTX high-speed rail services, which took effect this month, has increased the number of available train seats, and the city expects that to make transfers to public transport easier.
The city also widened parking access for drivers and residents shopping for the holiday. During the break, 110 public parking lots with 10,000 spaces will open free of charge, excluding some sites in Samsan-dong and the old downtown area of Jung-gu. To ease the cost of holiday shopping, parking and stopping will be allowed for up to two hours on roads near nine traditional markets through the 27th, and the weekday driving restriction on passenger cars will be temporarily suspended during the holiday.
Ulsan plans to operate a traffic control center throughout the holiday to monitor conditions in real time and to maintain an emergency communication line with police and other agencies. Real-time traffic conditions and bus service information are available on the Ulsan Traffic Management Center website, the mobile Ulsan Bus Information app and variable message signs.
