
Heo Mi-mi, a Korean-Japanese judoka and a descendant of independence activist Heo Seok, won a gold medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Heo, who competes for the Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Council, beat Ariunzaya Terbish of Mongolia on a yuko score in the final of the women's 57-kilogram division on the 1st at Aichi International Arena in Nagoya, Japan.
It is the first gold medal won by a South Korean judo competitor at this year's Games.
