South Korea's national football team drew without a goal against Venezuela in a friendly match.
The South Korean squad, led by interim manager Robert Moreno, played to a 0-0 draw against Venezuela on the 2nd at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.
South Korea deployed Son Heung-min (LAFC) and Oh Hyeon-gyu (Besiktas) as a front two but struggled to build attacks throughout the first half. The team's first shot came in the 45th minute from Cho Hyun-taek (Ulsan). In first-half stoppage time, Oh found the net, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on the opposing goalkeeper in the buildup.
In the 51st minute, Son met a low cross from Oh with a shot that went straight at the goalkeeper. Venezuela then put the ball in the net through Ramirez, but the effort was flagged offside. In the 72nd minute, a deflected Venezuelan shot struck the post. South Korea failed to break through until the end, with Lee Dong-gyeong's long-range attempt in stoppage time also saved by the goalkeeper.
Son likewise failed to add a goal, leaving him on 58 career goals in international matches. He therefore remains tied with former national team manager Cha Bum-kun atop the all-time scoring list for South Korea's men's national team.
Moreno's side will close out its September-October international schedule against Uzbekistan at 8 p.m. on the 6th at Yongin Mir Stadium.
