Okestro said on the 21st that it signed a memorandum of understanding with FuriosaAI on the 18th at FuriosaAI's headquarters in Seoul's Gangnam district to cooperate on neural processing unit-based artificial intelligence infrastructure and platform technology and business.
Since early this year, the two companies have installed servers running RNGD, FuriosaAI's second-generation NPU, in Okestro's AI infrastructure environment to verify compatibility and key functions. As a result of the collaboration, Okestro expanded support for Concerto AI, its AI inference operations platform previously offered mainly for graphics processing units, to cover FuriosaAI's RNGD. Concerto AI is an AI inference infrastructure platform that provides integrated support for deploying and serving AI models, managing computing resources and monitoring services.
The MOU was signed to turn the technical verification results accumulated so far into actual customer business. The two companies plan to flesh out business models for building and operating RNGD-based AI infrastructure across a range of AI models and workloads.
They will also broaden the scope of their business cooperation to bring the verified technology to market. The companies will jointly design RNGD-based AI infrastructure tailored to the AI service needs and workload characteristics of public-sector, financial and corporate customers. They will link joint sales, marketing and technical support to expand market adoption of RNGD-based AI infrastructure and to develop new business models together.
Over the medium to long term, the companies will expand technical verification cooperation to handle a wider range of AI models and workloads. They will advance integrated operations and monitoring technology spanning models, inference runtimes and AI accelerators. They plan to extend cooperation to heterogeneous AI infrastructure environments that can efficiently use various accelerators, including GPUs and NPUs, depending on workload characteristics.
"With this MOU as a starting point, we will combine the two companies' technological competitiveness to build new AI infrastructure references in the public, financial and corporate markets," said Kim Min-jun, chairman of Okestro Group.
