NCSoft said on Sept. 22 that a total of 30,000 visitors tried out its new magic-themed role-playing game Astra e Oratio, or Astra Oratio for short, during Tokyo Game Show 2026.
The show, marking its 30th anniversary this year, ran from Sept. 17 to 20 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. NCSoft took part with a standalone booth for the title, unveiling its first playable demo and holding scenario screenings that covered the game's early storyline. Visitors tried core content including a scenario mode and a combat mode.
On Sept. 19, the first day open to general visitors, the booth logged a 120-minute wait, the longest recorded by the organizers, and the line was temporarily closed as crowds built up. Limited-edition merchandise handed out on site also sold out entirely, underscoring strong local interest.
The event had originally been scheduled to run through Sept. 21 but closed early on Sept. 20 because of a typhoon. In response, NCSoft expanded its demo area on short notice on Sept. 20 and held an online scenario screening through its official YouTube channel on Sept. 21.
Following the Tokyo Game Show, NCSoft plans to run a global closed beta test to keep broadening contact with users. The company aims to refine the game based on feedback from the event and the beta test and to launch it commercially next year.
