The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute said on the 22nd that the full moon will rise in Seoul at 5:34 p.m. on the 25th, the day of the Chuseok holiday. The moon will reach its highest point in the sky at 11:31 p.m. the same day.
The moment when the moon sits directly opposite the sun and becomes completely round will come at 1:49 a.m. on the 27th, two days after Chuseok. As a result, the full moon seen on the night of Chuseok will not be perfectly round, and its left side will appear slightly less than full.
In other cities, the full moon will rise at 5:35 p.m. in Incheon, 5:32 p.m. in Daejeon, 5:27 p.m. in Daegu, 5:34 p.m. in Gwangju, 5:25 p.m. in Busan, 5:24 p.m. in Ulsan and 5:33 p.m. in Sejong.
