The 2026 Korea Game Awards, which honor the games that defined the country's gaming industry this year, will be held on Nov. 18 in Busan.
The Korea Association of Game Industry said on Sept. 29 that the ceremony will take place on Nov. 18, one day before the opening of G-STAR, the country's largest gaming expo. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the association, it is the most prestigious game awards event in South Korea.
This year's ceremony will present awards in 13 categories, including the main honors — the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Merit Award and Technology and Creativity Award — as well as the Popular Game Award and the Indie Game Award.
Entries will be accepted online and offline for 15 days, from Sept. 29 through Oct. 12. Winners will be determined by combining the results of the jury's evaluation with online votes from the general public and the media, including game reporters and influencers.
Winners of the Games of the Year awards, organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency, are automatically entered as candidates for the Korea Game Awards.
